Fisher-Price Infant to toddler Rocker. RM259.00. Need to use battery type D if want it to vibrate. I spend a little bit for this cause want to use it longer until baby is 4 years old.
Today i would like to share what you can expect or should know if you are going to deliver your baby at Lam Wah Ee (LWE) Hospital. I will try my best to arrange the information accordingly.
If you have open pink book at Klinik Kesihatan, then you can just bring the book at LWE.
1. Choose your favourite O&G doctor. Maybe any of your friends review can help you choose which doctor. For me, I prefer the more experience doctor which are now age ~ 72 years old already.
2. Book online through their website. Each Dr has their specific appointment day and time.
3. On the day of appointment, for the first time, you need to register at the registration counter first near the entrance. Need to give guarantor details too.
4. Go to 2nd floor by using escalator in front of the cafeteria or by using lift.
5. Pass your pink book or antenatal card + appointment card to the nurse. This step you will do for EACH OF YOUR FOLLOW UP VISIT.
6. The nurse will check your blood pressure and give you bottle to urinate to check for any urine sugar and protein. The toilet is near the clinic.
7. Wait for the doctor and doctor will do ultrasound scan to check your baby. Their ultrasound machine is so clear compared to Klinik Kesihatan which is very blurry. hihi The Dr can immediately see the gender too.
8. For Dr Quah Thong Sai, you need to see him for at least 2-3 times before giving birth. That's their requirement. So I would recommend you all go at 6 month, 8 month and then between 38-39 weeks especially if you have any issues during pregnancy.
ANTENATAL CLASS.
LWE also do provide antenatal class. Need to pay RM100 for a couple for 2 days lecture. The poster is as below just that the price is not updated one.
I would recommend for first time mother to attend this. Maybe around week 20 weeks above is good time to attend.
This is the tentative. The resource centre at 7th floor and only accessible through lift located near the cafeteria. The staff will call and remind you about the programme so thay you wont forget. The staf is very friendly and helpful.
The speakers involved are all staf from LWE Hospital. Lunch is provided which is fried rice which is alot. They also got serve coffee and milo.
Got some freegift from Huggies. Differents brand of diapers.
Above is the list of items you need to bring if you are going to deliver at LWE. LWE will provide hospital cloth for baby and mother except in the above. Make sure to double check with the hospital to make sure what you need to bring for delivery.
Since now is post covid era, you will need to do PCR test at least 2 hour before delivery. Just go to the emergency department which they will have admission unit. If you havennt done PCR test, you will not be allow to deliver at labour room. They have separate room for delivery if you didnt do PCR test. Both husband and wife need to do PCR, if the husband want to accompany the wife in the labour room la. LWE do allow the husband to accompany the wife at the labour room.
Above is the rough estimation for price. Prepare at least RM 3-8k since you wont know which type of delivery you will need. Husband can only stay together is you choose Deluxe Private Room (Single bedded).
They have 3days 2 night or 2 days 1 night package.
VISITING TIME
It maybe change depends on the situation because of covid.
PAINKILLER
The painkiller that is available are Entonox Pethidine injection, and Epidural injection. Pethidine you need to request before is 5. For Entonox, it is short acting so you need to learn how to use it. It will cause you dizzy and only inhale while there is contraction. For epidural injection, the anaesthesiologist will do if you want pain free labour. But the epidural service is only available morning until 12 midnight. So need to plan early.
IN THE LABOUR ROOM
Nurse will attach the CTG machine to the mother until deliver.
Doctor will arrive when it is time to deliver. Otherwise, only the midwife and nurses are there. Labour room located at 2nd floor. If need to go to OT, it is located above floor. If not mistaken at 5th floor, I have forgot already.
Husband can accompany the wife at the labour room. Got chair to sit for the husband.
ADVISE from midwife:
1. Need to relax and control breathing while you feel the contraction pain.
2. Follow instruction when to push. It is important not to hurt the mother.
3. Giving birth is like a war since each person will have different pain threshold, different issues, and unique.
Above is the list that I got from a baby Shop near CTY. Maybe can help new mom to prepare things.
So far the cost that I spend is only around RM1,804.00 only. The expensive one is Carseat and Baby Rocker Chair. Others doesnt cost alot.
JOIE car seat cost RM839.00 which is same as at the Shopee. It can recline 4 level but cannot spin. Can use from infant up to 25kg. Life time warranty. No ISOFIX. Can use seat belt.
This one is portable mattress. Bought from Shopee with price RM175. Material use is cotton for cover while inside is batting. It is quick thick and can be wash in the washing machine.
